The 4 highest scores of each entrant in each of the 8 categories will be tallied to determine the category winners. The trophies will be awarded at the annual November Print Judging.
b. The “Photographer of the Year” award is based upon the total points earned from January through November of each year. The 14 highest monthly scores will be added (including the two print Judging Contest) together for the participant’s total to compete for “Photographer of the Year”.
c. The “Best in Category” awards are based on a participant’s 4 highest scores in a given category. The participant can enter all the categories over a given year, but must have minimum of 4 entries in a given category to be eligible for the award.
RULES
1. There will be a monthly electronic image competition/evaluation at every meeting except the June, July, November and December Holiday party.
2. Entries can be any proportion.
3. Entries will be judged by our speaker and two members of the PPF. Members will still vote for their favorite image.
4. The speaker will give a brief evaluation of each winning print after the program has ended.
5. The winners will be announced: Highest Scores in each of the 8 categories and members' choice.
6. The judging will still be on the 12 elements of a good print but with an emphasis on lighting, posing, composition, color harmony and impact (the things that will help us all improve and increase our sales).
7. Each member will get one entry into the Texas School Scholarship drawing for every entry.
8. Each member will receive fellowship points under competition at the rate of one half point for each entry and one point for each ribbon.
9. There will be no points towards your degree given for the monthly assignment.
10. If a member enters every month the total number of entry points will be increased
by 10 points.
11. As an added incentive to continue to participate in the evaluations and PPF activities, once you have achieved Photographic Artisan you will begin to earn clips for your ribbon, 25 points per clip - like the PPA merit clips.
12. You can not judge if you have a print entered so each time you judge you will receive one half point counted under competition.
13. The evaluations given each month by different people with different view points should help us to get a better idea of how our customers view our work.
The Board of Directors may cancel a scheduled competition for any month. Entries MUST be received by Midnight the Friday prior to the meeting to qualify.
